Credits, Refunds and Cancellation Policy
How prepaid credits work, what is charged, and when money comes back.
Version 1.3 · last updated 2 October 2026
This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. It applies to every purchase of credits on Top Billing.
1. What a credit is
- A credit is a prepaid balance in Indian Rupees, held against a project wallet and applied once the payment gateway confirms your payment.
- Credits are an advance payment for our own services. They are not a prepaid payment instrument, not a deposit, not e-money and not an investment. They cannot be used to pay anyone else, they earn no interest, and they carry no cash value in your hands.
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts, and cannot be withdrawn, assigned, sold or converted to cash.
- Credits do not expire while your account is in good standing.
- Promotional credits, including credits added with a promo code, have no monetary value and are never refundable or convertible.
2. Buying credits
You buy credits from the Billing page. The amount, the tax and the total are shown before you pay. Payment is collected by our payment gateway; we never see your card, UPI or bank details.
New accounts have velocity limits on top-ups for the first week — a limit per day, a cumulative limit, and a limit on attempts per hour — to contain payment fraud. If you reach one, the checkout tells you, and you can try again later or write to support@topbilling.in to have the limit reviewed.
If a payment fails, nothing is charged and no credits are applied. If your bank shows a debit but the order did not complete, see section 5.
3. What gets charged
Every request reserves an upper-bound estimate against your wallet before it runs, so a request can never spend more than you have. When the model reports what it actually used, the reservation is settled at the real amount and the remainder is released immediately.
| What happened | What you pay |
|---|---|
| The request succeeded | The tokens the provider reported, at the price published for that model when the request started |
| The request was rejected before it reached a model — bad parameters, unsupported capability, no balance | Nothing |
| The provider failed before producing any output | Nothing |
| A stream was interrupted after partial output | Only the output actually produced |
| You cancelled the request mid-stream | Only the output produced before you cancelled |
| The provider never reported usage | Nothing is invented. The charge is held as pending reconciliation and then settled from the provider's own record, or released. |
A settled charge is final once reconciled, subject to section 5. Every charge carries a request id beginning tb_req_, and every movement of money is a row you can see in your usage and billing history.
4. Price changes
Prices are published per model and changed only by publishing a new pricing version with an effective time. A request keeps the version in force when it started, so a price change can never re-price work you have already done. An active pricing version is frozen and cannot be edited in place.
5. Refunds
| Situation | What we do | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your bank was debited but credits were not applied | We reconcile against the payment gateway automatically and either apply the credits or refund the original payment method. You do not need to ask. | Credits usually within minutes; a refund in 5 to 7 working days once the gateway confirms |
| Duplicate payment for the same order | The duplicate is refunded in full to the original payment method. | 5 to 7 working days from confirmation |
A request was billed incorrectly — write to us within 30 days with the tb_req_ id | We check the ledger. A verified error is corrected by a compensating entry, so the record shows both the error and the correction. | Investigated within 7 working days |
| You bought credits and have consumed none of that purchase | On request within 14 days of the purchase we refund it, less the payment-processing cost we cannot recover. After 14 days, or if any of that purchase has been consumed, credits are not refundable. | 7 to 10 working days from approval |
| Consumed usage | Not refundable. The work was done and a third-party provider was paid for it. | Not applicable |
| We terminate your account for a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy | Unused purchased credits are refunded unless the law requires us to withhold them; credits linked to the abuse or to a fraudulent payment are not. | Decided within 15 days |
Bonus credit given with a larger top-up (the tiers are shown on the Billing page) is not money and is never refunded in cash. When a top-up is refunded, or reversed by a chargeback, the bonus credit it earned is taken back from the wallet in the same proportion as the refund.
Refunds are always made in Indian Rupees to the original payment method. We do not refund in cash, to a different instrument, or to a different person. Write to support@topbilling.in with your order id.
6. Chargebacks
If something looks wrong, tell us first — we can usually fix it faster than a bank can. Raising a chargeback instead suspends the account until the bank decides, because we cannot leave a disputed balance spendable. If a chargeback is decided against you, the disputed amount and the bank's fee are deducted from the balance before the account is restored.
7. Cancellation
There is no subscription and no recurring charge, so there is nothing to cancel: stop sending requests and nothing more is spent. You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting the account forfeits any unused credits, except where section 5 gives you a refund right or the law requires one — so if you want a refund, ask before you delete.
8. Tax and invoices
Goods and Services Tax is added where it applies and is shown before you pay; the rate currently applicable to these services for a supply within India is 18%. A tax invoice carrying our GSTIN (33BUTPV1085N1ZQ) is available from the Billing page after every successful payment. If you give us a GSTIN we will put it on the invoice, and you are responsible for its accuracy. Where you are outside India the supply may qualify as an export of services and be treated accordingly; the invoice states which treatment was applied.
