Referral Programme Terms

Invite someone, and when they top up you get credits. The exact rules.

Version 1.3 · last updated 2 October 2026

These terms form part of the Terms of Service and govern the Top Billing referral programme. The amounts below are the ones published in your dashboard; the amount that applies to any particular referral is the one in force on the day the code was used, and it does not change afterwards.

2. Your code

Every account has one referral code, shown on the Referrals page, together with a link that fills it in automatically. Share it as you like, but not by spam, not by paid advertising that uses our name or bids on our brand, and not by any claim about Top Billing that we have not made ourselves.

3. When someone becomes your referral

They enter your code when they create their account, or arrive through your link. All of the following must be true:

  • They are a new customer, and the code is entered before their first payment. A code cannot be added to an account that has already paid.
  • They have not already been referred by anyone. A person can be referred once, ever.
  • They are not you. We compare normalised email addresses, so a plus-alias or a dotted variant of your own Gmail address is treated as you, and refused.
  • Where mobile verification is switched on, their number is their own — one verified number per account.

4. When the reward is paid

When the total of that customer's credited top-ups reaches the qualifying amount, the reward is granted to the oldest live wallet on your account, in the same database transaction as their payment. It appears in your billing history as a referral reward, with the request trail behind it.

Top-ups add up: two payments of Rupees 250 qualify exactly as one of Rupees 500. Promotional credits (including promo-code credits) and referral rewards themselves never count towards the threshold — only money actually paid.

If you do not have a live wallet yet, nothing is lost. The referral waits, and pays the next time that customer tops up, once you have one.

5. The monthly limit

One account can earn up to the monthly limit in rewards in a calendar month. A referral that qualifies beyond it is marked as held rather than cancelled; write to support@topbilling.in and we will look at it. The limit exists to make large-scale farming pointless, not to catch someone who genuinely introduced a lot of people.

6. When a reward is taken back

We may reverse a reward, as a compensating entry in your ledger rather than by editing history, if:

  • the qualifying payment is refunded, reversed or charged back;
  • the referral was not genuine — accounts created by you or on your behalf, purchased signups, or details that are not the customer's own; or
  • either account breaks the Acceptable Use Policy.

If the reversal takes your balance below zero it does not silently overdraw you: we contact you, and we may suspend rewards on the account while we sort it out.

7. What the reward is, and is not

The reward is Top Billing credits. Credits are an advance payment for our own services: they are not cash, not a prepaid payment instrument and not a deposit, they cannot be transferred to another account or withdrawn, and they are governed by the Credits, Refunds and Cancellation Policy. There is no cash alternative.

Any tax on what you earn from the programme is yours to account for. We do not give tax advice.

8. Changing or ending the programme

We may change the reward, the qualifying amount, the limit, or end the programme, at any time, by publishing a new version of this page. A change never affects a referral that has already been attached: the amounts promised when the code was used are frozen onto that referral and are what get paid. If we end the programme, referrals already attached still pay out when they qualify.

9. Disputes

If you think a reward is missing or wrong, write to support@topbilling.in with your code and roughly when the person signed up. The Grievance Redressal Policy applies, and our decision about whether a referral is genuine is final, subject to your rights under Indian law.

Your code, your referrals and what you have earned are on the Referrals page in your dashboard.
